Mirrorpix combines the photographic collections of not just of the world famous Daily Mirror newspaper but also those of sister titles The Daily Herald, Sunday Mirror, The People, Daily Record and Sunday Mail.

These extensive archives are blended with contemporary photojournalism, fashion, sport and celebrity photography to provide a unique and unmatched resource for creative profesionals eveywhere.

The Daily Mirror was first published in 1903 as a journal for women. After initial success, sales declined and the owner, Alfred Harmsworth, took the bold decision to print photographs as an additional means of conveying the news. With this innovation the age of photojournalism was born and the new illustrated pictorial Daily Mirror became the first newspaper in the world to publish photography. The Daily Record and The Daily Herald were also of early foundation, established in 1895 and 1912 respectively and both making extensive use of photography once the Mirror had shown the way.

With over a century of capturing life in pictures, our archives contain a wealth of material that documents the entire Twentieth century and beyond.
